Daybrief’s privacy policy

What information does Daybrief collect from me?

To give you your briefing, Daybrief gathers information from sources that you grant it permission to access (this is your ‘source information’). You have the option of allowing Daybrief to access your calendars, your reminders, and your location.

What does Daybrief do with the information it collects?

Daybrief sends your source information to our server, which then uses an external service provider (OpenAI) to create the text and audio of your briefing.

This source information, and the resulting text briefing, are not stored or logged by Daybrief.

We need to store the audio of your briefing so that Daybrief can retrieve it and play it for you. However, it is encrypted in such a way that only your devices can decrypt it, so no one else (not even us) can play these files.

Just to be extra sure, the encrypted audio of your briefing is deleted from our server three days after it’s created.

None of the data generated by your use of Daybrief (your source information, the text of the resulting briefing, and the audio of your briefing) are used by OpenAI for training their models. However, OpenAI may retain this data for up to 30 days to help identify abuse.

What else should I know about Daybrief?

Daybrief contains no third-party advertising or tracking SDKs.

This website, daybrief.app, contains no third-party advertising or tracking code.

If you have any questions about Daybrief’s privacy policy or treatment of your data, please email [email protected].
